Biathlon Bears
The Bears program is no longer taking registration for the 2020-21 season.
We are, however, taking names for a wait list.
This program is limited by number of available and trained coaches,
and number of rifles owned by the club.

Biathlon Yukon will be holding an Open House for the Bears in the fall of 2020. Come and get a sample of what you will be doing this winter!

Training will start once there is snow on the ground! Which will probably the end of November. Training is on Sundays and starts right at 1:00. Please come up early and get familiar with the Den and make sure your athlete is ready to get going right on time.

Biathlon Bears News
For the 2020-21 season, Biathlon Bears is offering 12 sessions for youth ages 9 – 12. Sessions will start in November, with additional opportunities to participate in events like Yukon Championships and Slush Cup. Scheduled practices are on Sundays from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. The program is designed to offer opportunities to participate in three tiers.
Please contact biathlonyukon@gmail.com before registering. Once space in the program is confirmed, you will be sent information about how to register. Fees are $10 for Biathlon Canada, (recreational athlete) and $160 for Biathlon Yukon, total of $170.
- Black Bears is all beginners. It doesn’t matter what age you are (9 - 12) as this is where you start to learn the basics of skiing and/or shooting.
- Grizzly Bears is for all participants who have completed Black Bears. In Grizzlies, you will build upon the basics skills already learned and move to more advanced levels of ski technique and shooting.
- Polar Bears is for those moving up from Grizzly Bears. Polar Bears introduces skills needed to become more of a competitive biathlete and allows for smooth transition into Pursuit and Velocity Squads.
