Velocity Squad collects more hardware at B.C. Cup - Whistler, BC, January 26-29, 2017

It’s really starting to seem about time the Velocity Squad changes its name to the High Velocity Squad.
Three weeks after Biathlon Yukon’s travel team collected five medals at a Calforex Cup in Alberta, they were back at it over the weekend in B.C.
The Velocity Squad won two gold, two silver and two bronze at the B.C. Cup 3 at Whistler Olympic Park, Jan. 28 and 29.

Whitehorse’s Nadia Moser is Europe-bound for the second time this season.
With two podium finishes at national team trials in Valcartier, Que., Jan. 7 and 8, Moser will represent Canada at the 2017 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships Feb. 22-28 in Osrblie, Slovakia.  Read More

Nadia Moser Secures Spot on Europe-Bound Team

For the second time this year, Whitehorse biathlete Nadia Moser will compete for Canada in Europe.
​
The 19-year-old secured a position on Canada’s team bound for International Biathlon Union Cup events next month in Europe with strong performances at Biathlon Canada National Team Trials last week in Canmore, Alta.

Championships Reveal New Group of Biathlon Stars

Nadia Moser isn’t the only up-and-coming biathlon prospect emerging from the territory.
A handful of other Whitehorse products made their mark at two championship events held this month.
“I think it’s success breeding success,” Biathlon Yukon president Bill Curtis said of the recent achievements by local biathletes.

Members of Biathlon Yukon’s Velocity Squad won seven medals at the B.C. Biathlon Championships at Whistler Olympic Park over the weekend.
But it was the selfless act of one Yukon competitor that really created a buzz.
