Happy new year! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday season. As we move towards finalizing the snowshoe and ski biathlon teams I wanted to pass along a few reminders:
1) All coaches, managers, chaperones over the age of 18 require a current criminal record check (if you have had one in the last calendar year, a new one is not required). A form letter is available at the front counter at Sport Yukon which I recommend you pick up before going to the RCMP. They did ask me for the letter.
2) Raffle tickets are available for pick up at Sport Yukon. The sale of four complete books covers the registration fees for an athlete ($3.75/ticket towards fees). Athletes are responsible for the tickets they take. If a book of tickets gets lost, the athlete will be responsible to pay for those tickets. Only athletes named to a team can redeem the credit for ticket sales. An athlete that is not named to a roster can sell tickets and bequeath the credits to friend that is on a roster.
3) Once the teams are named, we will have to get together to review the AWG Handbook to ensure that everyone understands the code of conduct and expectations prior to and during the games.
